SilverSneakers®/Active Adult Programs

SilverSneakers® is the nation’s leading fitness program designed exclusively for older adults and is available at no additional cost to eligible Medicare members.  In North Dakota and Minnesota, this program is also offered to eligible members of Humana.  This unique program allows older adults to take charge of their health and maintain an active, independent lifestyle.

Group Fitness Classes

Have fun with like minded adults and move to the music in group fitness classes geared toward a more gentle approach to fitness for those 50+.  Classes designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills are offered at convenient times to work with your busy schedule.  Or instructors are well trained and love working with you to help you accomplish your goals of maintaining a healthy active lifestyle. Group fitness classes include Water Fitness, Yoga, Silver Riders, SilverSneakers®, Tai Chi, Pilates, Cardio classes

Silver Strength

Add strengthening and toning to your personal fitness program by using the new Northern Energy Life Center.  Receive instruction and training from Life Center staff and tone, strengthen, and improve muscular and cardio endurance in a safe, supervised environment.

Supervised instruction time-9-10:30 am Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Other great options for our Active Adult/SilverSneakers® include

  • Our Kerr Pool is 86–88 degrees, for a great therapeutic workout.
  • Walk the indoor track and enjoy the beautiful view.
  • Our instructors are all trained to understand your maturing body.
  • Older Adult Personal Training gives the instruction and supervision you need for your body and goals

Active Adult/SilverSneakers® Social

Potluck/Social Activities Come and bring a dish to our monthly potluck.  Enjoy good food and good company!  Registration sheets for social activities are located at the SilverSneakers®/Active Adult bulletin board located next to the kitchen.  

Health Check The YMCA offers free educational blood pressure checks in the lobby of the YMCA every third Wednesday from 9:30-12:30PM

Educational Presentations Professionals from within our community will speak on a variety of topics including nutrition, preventative care, arthritis treatment and exercise and other topics of interest and benefit.

Monthly Dine Outs Enjoy food and fellowship and try a new restaurant each month. Join our senior group at a local restaurant for some great conversation and food.

Birthday Club (50+) We celebrate birthdays of YMCA members who are 50+! Treats and coffee will be provided. Sign up is required.
